Mario Cantu - Owner/ Coach -

Mario is the owner and coach at Move or Die Boxing. Mario has studied the art of boxing under the tutelage of James D. Hicks for the past 15+ years. He teaches both the youth and adult boxing classes at Move or Die Boxing, helps with new enrollments, administrative tasks, and marketing. He has many years' experience working as a peer support specialist, and team lead for the Girl Scouts of America. He holds an Associate of Arts in Communication, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from Bakersfield College. 

James Hicks - Head Coach -

James is Move or Die Boxings Head Coach. James’ knowledge encompasses more than 50+ years of boxing and coaching.  James was trained in Detroit’s most world-renowned and historic gyms, such as the Brewster Wheeler Recreation Center youth boxing program (1969 to 1971), and the Kronk Recreation Center intercity amateur Golden Gloves program (1971 - 1973).  James had a 20+ year career (1973-1994) in the U.S. Navy across 5 carriers, where he coached sailors for "smokers", which were on-ship boxing bouts.

Allison Cantu - Office Administrator - 

Allison is currently the office administrator for Move or Die Boxing. She handles new client enrollments, daily office tasks, marketing, and all finances. She is responsible for all social media accounts, such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, and does the marketing through those avenues as well. She has worked with Move or Die Boxing for the last 5 years. She holds an Associates in Business Administration, and certificate in Information Sciences and Technology from the Pennsylvania State University.

We are also lucky enough to have some amazing assistant coaches. Kimberly, Ivan, and Coach Sarge help with classes during the week and are here to teach and help you along with your boxing journey!
